Research, Conception and Design with the Zum Kuckuck team for this digital project of the museum. The goal was to offer a wide spectrum of art in a virtual collection, that is accessible independently, free, and from wherever you like on your desktop, tablet or smartphone.

The “Digital Collection” of the Städel Museum invites the user to take a stroll through 700 years of art history, to search directly for a work or artist – and provides a unique access to discover art across generations, epochs and styles. Displayed here: an excerpt of the various possible paths to dive into it.

Information for both visitors as professionals, with descriptive texts, videos, audios, measurements, inventory number and more, like connected artworks as further inspiration to dive into the collection, at the bottom of the page. The image’s detail view offers a very smooth close up, allowing to see unexpected facets, nuances and the artist’s technique.
